Today’s pictures are from one of my favorite and most adventurous days of our trip! Rancho Palos Verdes is a beautiful hilltop town along the coast, just outside of LA. While Brendan was at one of his interviews, I Ubered my way to the Abalone Cove Shoreline Park to explore this area for the day. To say that I was unprepared is a massive understatement. For one, I wore the absolute worst pair of shoes. As you’ll see from the pictures below, this area was the quintessential rugged California coast. Flats were not meant for rocky paths and beaches. I think it goes without saying that my shoes were pretty rough by the end of the day. I also completely failed to bring any water or food, assuming for some reason, that I’d be within walking distance of some place to eat. Wrong again. Please just imagine me in my little denim shorts, white blouse and flats hiking along rocky cliffs and paths hauling an enormous camera. Despite my crucial mistakes, I loved everything about my little solo adventure. I felt super tough (and judged by all the other legit/prepared hikers that I passed) and definitely earned my dinner that night! In fact, when Brendan finished up his interview, we rehiked the whole 4-mile or so trail because I wanted him to see how truly epic my day was. This place is a little off the beaten path, but I can’t recommend it enough!
