Sonoma Engagement Photographer

The last time I photographed these two it was before Jeff asked Tori to marry him. We spent a weekend with them in Monterey, and it was so fun knowing that he was planning his proposal! Now that they’re actually engaged and planning a lovely summer wedding, it only seemed right to take their pictures once more :) I loved exploring a little bit of Sonoma with these two, wine tasting and discovering the craziest tree I’ve seen since moving to California. (Scroll down – isn’t that thing insane looking??) We took these pictures on New Years Eve, and their Sonoma engagement session was the best way to finish out 2016. I’m biased because these are lifelong friends, but their pictures are some of my favorites ever! I still haven’t gotten over that dreamy California sunshine, y’all.

Tori and Jeff, love y’all so much! Me and your handsome best man can’t wait to celebrate with you two next August!

Napa Wedding Photographer

Y’all. I am SO excited to share today’s post with you! When I first moved to California this past summer, I was ready to own my new position as a Napa wedding photographer, so I thought what better way to do that than to have a shoot in a vineyard?? A few new friends and I pulled together our talents, and the end result couldn’t have made me happier! It was one of those times when I got the images back and they were exactly what I had seen in my mind.

Truly, not one ounce of this shoot would have been possible without the incredible team of creatives who lent their talents to make my vision a reality. Mary did an absolutely amazing job with the florals. I’ve worked with her before, so I knew she’d kill it, but man! I was kind of freaking out when she showed me what she created. Kelsey designed and hand lettered the most beautiful invitation suite I’ve ever photographed. The furniture (which I ‘d like to steal for my home please) and all the unique antique details were provided by Ryanne, who is not only an incredibly talented stylist, but also loves champagne as much as I do. I could really go on and on about the wonderful people who trusted my vision, but this post would go on for a long time :) Their links are below and I can’t recommend each of them enough.

I’m especially grateful to Grey Likes Weddings for featuring this shoot today! For a full write up and to learn more about our sweet models, head over to the full feature!

Hooray for February! It’s crazy to think we’re already a full month into 2017. January was a really productive month and while I didn’t check off all my goals, I definitely completed some things that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. Namely, I finally refinished our two bedrooms dressers! It’s been on my listed for literally years, so I’m really glad that they’re done! I made good headway in our taxes, but didn’t quite get into building some of those good habits as much as I wanted. SO! Here’s what’s up for the next month!

No. 1 Read “Born to Run”. This is a carryover from last month since I got lazy and never finished it!

No. 2 Plant seedlings. Again, carryover from last month! Apparently I got our last frost date wrong, so I needed to wait a bit longer to get my little plants going.

No. 3 Finish our 2016 taxes and *hopefully* submit them.

No. 4 Spend more time in prayer.

No. 5 Celebrate Brendan’s 27th birthday in Tahoe! We’ve had this trip planned for a several months and we are SO excited to be heading to a snowy wonderland tonight with his brother and sister-in-law!

No. 6 Spend a few days in Las Vegas for WPPI! No real goal here except to have a great time meeting and mingling with lots of my wedding photog peers, many who’ve I’ve known online for years, but have never met. I’m excited :)

No. 7 Book local weddings and continue to reach out to/work with local planners and stylists. Hopefully, get a styled shoot on the calendar for this spring sometime.
