Hi y’all! Meet my lovely parents, Lynn and Larry! As an only child, I grew up very close to my parents. We moved pretty regularly when I was young for my dad’s career in the Air Force, and with each new town there was almost always a season where little Emily was friendless before the school year began. One of the greatest gifts my parents have given me is their friendship. Children at heart, these two are a couple of the silliest people I know, and if you’ve spent any amount of time with me, you know that I am nearly always a goofball. In addition to their silliness, I also inherited my dad’s eyes and disdain for onions and my mom’s hair and love for avocados. They’ll be celebrating their 29th anniversary next month, and their love for each other is one of the strongest memories I have as a kid. I watched my mom selflessly follow my dad back and forth across the country four times for his job, and my dad always put our family first growing up.

We spent a week in Charleston with them earlier this month, and I of course had to take a few pictures! There’s something especially exciting about getting scans back from photographing family. These two are just the best, and it’s safe to say that the film I shot from our 20 minutes on the beach at sunset is some of my favorite of all time!
