I shared a while back that Brendan spent a month in Asheville this summer for one of his rotations. While it was a big bummer having him gone, I also spent a beautiful weekend up in the mountains with him, tubing down the French Broad River, sipping craft beer and exploring winding trails off the Blue Ridge Parkway. I brought my little 35mm film camera (my adventure camera as I’ve come to call it) and took some pictures during our sunrise hike. Guys, it was gorgeous. We watched the fog shift through valleys and eventually clear when the sun came up. We also stopped at literally every single overlook we passed. Once we got to the top of our little peak, it felt like we were the only people in the entire world. There was nothing but a cool breeze (which meant that I stole Brendan’s jacket because yours truly is never prepared for cold weather) and miles of green before us. It was incredibly beautiful.
