During our trip to France, Brendan and I split from my parents in Paris for a few days to head south and explore a region I’d wanted to visit for a long time – Provence! And oh goodness, our first day of exploring was a great day. Provence in the morning, the Mediterranean coast in the afternoon (more on that soon!). We stayed just north of Aix-en-Provence, and spent a Saturday morning wandering around one of its many open air markets. Textiles, produce, flowers, antiques – you name it, they have a charming little market for it. We smelled locally made soaps, drooled over fresh-baked bread and made it just in time for me to snap some pictures at the flower market. Aix-en-Provence is the prefect mix of town and city – small enough to easily explore and find tiny streets, but big enough to have a lot of choices for shopping and eating. We were only here for a few hours, but we loved this little stop on our way to Cassis, and I wouldn’t hate finding myself wandering down one of those quant alleys once again ;)
