Y’all. This Wrightsville Manor wedding was just the happiest day. I’ve known Leah since we were both in college at UNC, and to know Leah is to love her. She is a genuinely kind person who just knows how to love people well – it’s really what everyone talked about all day at her wedding! And Phil is no different. These two are cut from the same cloth, and their wedding was a beautiful reflection of the love they’ve received from Christ. It was really something to witness and be a part of.
I always struggle to pick a favorite moment from a wedding day, but this one was easy – their first look. Leah wanted sunshine so bad, but we woke to gloomy skies and a forecast of intermittent rain. As we were prepping to do their first look outside, it began to rain – onto plan b! While I’m sure Leah was upset, any trace of disappointment vanished the moment she saw Philip. I’ve photographed a lot of first looks over the years, but this one was one of the sweetest. There were tears and laughter and the showing off of shoes and dresses and suits. It was the perfect start to the day, and one I’m so grateful I got to witness.
Leah and Philip – y’all are just the best! I am so happy for you both as you enter this new season of marriage and can’t wait to see how well you love each other and others through it!
