Wilmington Wedding Photographer

 

I seems like I was just writing my post about hitting 5 years in business! To say that I’ve been a business owner for a decade is a bit mind-blowing – it also makes me feel pretty dang old haha

I could rewrite everything from that 5 year post, and it would still be as true today. To be honest, when I took that first step towards being a wedding photographer, I would have never imagined I’d still be doing a it 10 years later! As a 20-year-old I was more concerned with having a job after I graduated than what my life would look like as I entered my 30s haha All I knew was that this seemed like a career I could love, and that was enough for me.

As with all things, this business has seen a lot in the last 10 years since it began, but truthfully, the last 5 have been some of the most challenging, and therefore some of the most. Since 2016, EMP has seen two cross-country moves, two kids with minimal childcare and a pandemic that shut down the wedding industry. Phew! In the midst of all that, somehow, by God’s grace, this business stayed in the green and continued steadily onward.

And after all these years and seasons, the one word that describes how I feel is grateful. Grateful for God’s provision in seasons that felt confusing. Grateful for couples and clients who have trusted me and invited me into some of the most important moments of their lives. Grateful for my industry friends who have counseled me, inspired me, supported me, shot with me and created with me. Grateful for the countless things and places that inspire me and keep my head full to the brim with ideas.

So cheers to ten years down and however many more to go. Thanks for being a part of the ride and supporting me as I do something I love so much!
