Meet the Nowak family! When Abbie reached out to be about their Oak Island family pictures this past summer, I was so excited! I had only been to Oak Island once before, and it was so beautiful! I was really excited to head back to such a lovely place and hang out with this sweet family. Now, every parent knows that there are times when your kids are just not going to do what you want them to do (for most of us this is every day haha). Baby Coco was not interested in having her picture taken on this day, but instead of letting it ruin their session or be a big stressor, the Nowaks were patient and flexible. Instead of trying to get more posed portraits, we just played. There was splashing and swimming and tossing kids in the air and collecting shells and simply having a good time at the beach! I genuinely love these pictures and think they show something really authentic and beautiful. Parenthood is messy, crazy and filled with curve balls, but it is also such a joy. I feel like this session embodies that reality – from scenes of splashing in the water with one daughter to comforting another with cuddles. Not a single one of us walked off the beach completely dry or free from sand, and that’s the best way to end a session at the beach :)

Abbie, thanks for being such a champion mom during our time together! I’m so excited to see you and your sweet family again this summer!
