Oh goodness, this Chateau de la Gaude wedding editorial is an absolute dream come true! After weeks of planning, designing and organizing this shoot virtually with Nyachia of NKT Events, it was so wonderful to see all the pieces come together so beautifully. I am genuinely in awe of the work done by all the shoot’s collaborators – an incredible custom invitation suite, lush florals and two absolutely incredible bridal gowns.
Our inspiration was largely based on the feel and colors of a romantic sunset in Provence. We were drawn to lush textural elements that would create an environment that was rich with color and highlighted the beautiful grounds of Chateau de la Gaude. The color palette is based on the hues of a “cotton candy sunset” – those beautiful skies filled with pink clouds just as the sun goes down. Inspired by these pastel hues, this editorial features a palette of pale peach, blush, lavender and light blue – colors reminiscent of a warm evening in Provence.Â
We chose two looks for our bride, and I love the contrast between the two! The classic white gown from Dylan Parienty had a whimsical touch with the addition of a cape. With how breezy the weather was, this was such a fun detail. The second Millia London gown gave a nod to those perfectly rosy clouds that grace the sky during a cotton candy sunset. You know I love a pink gown, so I am so glad we went for two gowns!
We wanted the florals for this to feel lush and colorful, and the team at Lettre à Élise outdid themselves! The floral arch provided a colorful focal point for the ceremony space, while still allowing the Chateau’s facade to remain in full view. Reception florals added a rich textural element to the intimate reception table. Our bride’s bouquet included an array of beautiful blooms that touched on every color in our palette.
Signature cocktails, custom paper goods and colorful desserts added a bespoke touch to the shoot and provide colorful ideas for couples looking for a similar aesthetic to their wedding. Still Waters Paperie’s gorgeous paper goods are the stuff of dreams, aren’t they?
I absolutely love how everything came together. These images are ones I’ve dreamed of taking for many years! I began this Chateau de la Gaude wedding inspiration shoot not knowing a soul and left having so many new friends in a country I love so much.
