I consider my role on a wedding day to be a tremendous privilege and am incredibly grateful that I can count myself among the population of people whose passion and profession are aligned. It gives me so much joy to deliver heirlooms in the form of photographs - images rich with feeling and meaning that authentically tell the story of two people and the day they vowed to love each forever.
I love mementos - tokens from beloved memories, places or people. So when I was handed a camera at 15, I fell in love. I didn’t realize it then, but my desire to preserve, to remember and to hold onto memories had finally met its perfect medium. By the time I was in college, I had firmly cemented myself as “the girl with the camera,” and my hobby became a passion when I was introduced to the world of weddings. The nostalgia and creativity of photography matched with the romance, deep meaning and storytelling of weddings captivated me.
When I’m not photographing lovely people, you’ll find me planning my next trip, craving an iced latte, heading to the gym or feeling indecisive about what to plant in my garden. I married my best friend, Brendan, eleven years ago and we regularly pinch ourselves over what a great decision it was to spend our lives together. I’m a mama to two sweet little girls, Adeline and Kennedy, and foster mama to any kiddo who needs a home.
I first fell in love with photography because it gave me eyes to see God’s creation and draw attention to the beauty and dignity of human beings. One of the ways I’ve felt called to love people is through my role as a foster parent. The child welfare system is a broken thing to step into, but I believe it's one of the most meaningful ways you can love your community. A portion of every wedding booking goes to support Foster Love, a nonprofit that provides resources for foster kids and supplemental support for foster agencies and parents.
It's no secret that I have an intense fondness for flowers. I’m not sure when or how it began, but somewhere along the way, I fell in love with beautiful blooms. The ambiance and color they bring to an event is incredible to me. At weddings I’m regularly looking for the florist so I can give them a hug and thank them for creating such beauty! My favorite flowers include coral charm peonies, hellebores and sweet peas - you’ll actually find all of them growing in my own backyard!
