French Wedding Inspiration

January 2016

french wedding inspiration

Oh man keeping these pictures a secret since August may have been my biggest struggle of 2015! I am SO excited to share this shoot I worked on with Rebecca Rose Creative. I’ve wanted to do a French wedding inspiration shoot for a long time, so this is really a dream come true. Now I just need to shoot a wedding in France… ;) French Impressionist art has long been a major influence on my work. From scenes of quiet gardens to bustling Parisian cafes, paintings by Monet, Renoir and their contemporaries have been my favorites for ages. Their paintings always take me back to Paris, and when I’m shooting, I always aim to have the soft pastel palette that has made Impressionism one of the most beautiful artistic movements.

When Becca and I were working on this shoot, we pulled a lot of ideas from the works of Impressionist artists. We envisioned soft blues and pastels, garden flowers, rich velvets and lots of tulle.  We wanted to create a wedding that had the elegance of Paris matched with the understated and casual romance of a little French garden. I’d say we got everything on our wish list! Becca even used some Impressionist art as envelope liners! It’s hard for me to pick one aspect of this shoot that I really love, but man, those flowers are hard to beat. Swoon!

We’ve been holding onto these pictures for a long time, and I’m so honored to have them featured on Ruffled this week so I can finally share them! I hope those of you lovely brides looking for some French wedding inspiration find these images to be helpful and inspiring! Be sure to check out the feature as well as the work of the amazing people below that made this shoot come to life!
