There are a lot of things I love about my job, but one of my favorite things is getting to explore new places. When Danna emailed me in February asking me to photograph her wedding in Chapel Hill and her engagement pictures in Austin, I was so excited! Danna and I go way back. When I was a baby freshman at Carolina, Danna was my amazing RA. She wasn’t the kind of RA who laid down the law or stood awkwardly in your doorway trying to make small talk. No, she was the RA who delivered a handmade baked good every day during exams. Truly, is there anything better than coming home from 6 hours of tests to a cupcake on your doorstep? She knew there wasn’t and now she’s delivering those same tasty treats regularly on her blog. Fast forward 7 years and she’s marrying Gib, a fun and laid back Army man who had eyes for Danna and never looked back. I think it goes without saying that Brendan and I loved getting spending in evening with these two in such a cool place.
These two got married amongst spring blooms this past Friday and it was one of the sweetest ceremonies I’ve had the privilege to witness. Danna and Gib, you guys are lovely and I can’t thank you enough for bringing me down to Austin to photograph such a sweet season! Brendan and I loved the city and were so grateful to have the opportunity to explore it and eat lots of Tex-Mex :)
