I’ll have you know that this film engagement session checked off one of the locations on my unofficial session bucket list – a horse farm! And I’m very allergic to horses guys. Like swollen face, puffy eyes, hives, the works. BUT not with these two! It could be because this place is beautiful and magical, but it’s probably more likely that it’s just because I exhibited self-control and didn’t pet any of the horses. In any case, photographing Lauren and Matt at the Manor at Carriage Farm was one of the highlights of April and has me even more excited for their wedding in the same location this October. I mean, that light is the stuff of dreams! As we walked beneath the dappled sunshine and along that old fence, I couldn’t help but think that I’ll never tire of that golden light. It makes me love film even more! And Lauren and Matt have two of the kindest souls in North Carolina, and I’m so grateful to have had a couple hours to get to know them and their hearts for the Lord. They’re equal parts fun, silly, generous and thoughtful. I met them last summer shooting Matt’s brother’s wedding and distinctly remember them tearing up the dance floor. This, obviously, bodes well for their reception :) October can’t get here soon enough, you two!
